2nd year AP here. In the last two years I have managed to publish 6 papers in decent outlets. I had excited comments from several reviewers saying that they were expecting the papers to have impact on the research community. However, I am totally disappointed by the number of citations: I only have 15 and 12 of them are self-citations (papers+WP). Some of these papers have 300-400 downloads but no one seems to be interested in citing them. Why is my research so boring and useless?
